Job Overview: The Electronic or Test Technician position within the Electrical Power Converter (EPC) Group at CERN's SY department is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in working with cutting-edge technology. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Electronic or Test Technician include: managing and maintaining a test station for power converters; organizing and executing the testing and qualification processes for these converters; participating in the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and processes; collaborating closely with design engineers to enhance understanding and application of electronic principles; and engaging in internal training programs to develop new skills relevant to the role. The technician will also be responsible for writing clear and concise technical reports using office tools, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up to date. Additionally, the role may involve the use of mobile work equipment or lifting equipment, necessitating a driving authorization and medical clearance due to occupational health risks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. By the application deadline, applicants should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. The highest educational qualification required is a general secondary education diploma. It is important to note that applicants who have previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract are not eligible for this position.
