Job Overview: The Associate Director position offers a unique opportunity to influence global health outcomes by driving the scaling of eyeglasses access, a critical intervention for improving vision health. The role involves implementing CHAI's global eyeglasses access strategy, collaborating with country teams to develop and evaluate cost-effective programs, and engaging with global stakeholders to mobilize resources and raise awareness. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining knowledge of the latest evidence in the field and fostering effective relationships with partners and colleagues. The Associate Director will be part of CHAI's Global Assistive Technology team and will report to the Senior Director, with responsibilities that include independent work and flexibility in achieving high-quality results. Limited travel (up to 20%) is expected, and the role may be elevated to 'Director' for candidates with higher qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Director will be responsible for driving the implementation of CHAI's global eyeglasses access strategy, which includes identifying and scaling high-impact interventions. Key responsibilities include leading partnerships with global stakeholders such as the World Health Organization and EYElliance, developing evidence-based best practices, evaluating program interventions, and supporting country teams in shaping eyeglasses programs. The role also involves facilitating knowledge sharing, leading fundraising efforts, and managing internal and external communications. The Associate Director will play a crucial role in addressing the global eyeglasses access gap and ensuring that programs are effective and impactful.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and drive impactful programs. Exceptional project management skills are essential, along with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills are required, as well as the ability to analyze large amounts of data and draw relevant conclusions. Experience in fundraising and mobilizing resources is also important, along with a high level of energy and commitment to completing tasks.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree is required, along with 10 years of relevant experience in a results-oriented environment. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing large and complex projects, as well as outstanding communication skills in multicultural settings.
