Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate will be responsible for creating complex budgets and costing models to quantify the financial resources needed for malaria and NTD elimination. They will conduct analyses to optimize funding value and identify resource gaps, collaborating with government and partner organizations. The role includes facilitating evidence-based program reviews, developing proposals for funding sources like the Global Fund, and supporting governments in strengthening their financial and programmatic capacities. The Associate will also foster relationships with stakeholders, assist country teams in planning and implementing activities, and measure progress in management, strategy, and financing. Additional responsibilities may arise as needed in the Asia region.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of work experience with increasing levels of responsibility. They should have excellent analytical and communication skills, with strong proficiency in spoken and written English. The ability to create high-quality presentations and reports is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required, along with demonstrated ability to build relationships in a multicultural environment, particularly with governments and multilateral organizations. The candidate should be capable of managing multiple workstreams, setting priorities, and working independently under pressure. Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time is also necessary.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position, which serves as the foundational educational background necessary to perform the duties effectively. The degree should ideally be in a relevant field that supports the analytical and strategic aspects of the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of work experience, which should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility. While previous experience in finance, malaria, or NTDs is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Experience in management consulting, investment banking, or similar fast-paced environments is considered an advantage, as it equips candidates with the skills needed to thrive in this role.
Languages: Strong spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages such as Burmese, Khmer, Lao, or Vietnamese is considered advantageous, as it can enhance communication and relationship-building in the region.
