Job Overview:
CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Project Administrator to work in the Science and Innovation Chapter in the program of Sustainable Agrifood Systems. The position will be based at CIMMYT’s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City. The Project Administrator will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and monitoring the activities of technicians hired for various projects. This role requires coordination and validation of the tracking of technicians' activities to ensure the fulfillment of assigned tasks and project objectives. The Project Administrator will also present reports, analyses, progress updates, and/or status of the technicians' contracts and activities as required by the program, manage lifecycle contracts with third parties, and oversee project grants from the signing of the agreement through to project closure and/or renewal, ensuring the delivery of agreed outputs and compliance with established processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Administrator will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: planning, designing, executing, and monitoring activities of technicians; coordinating and validating tracking of technicians' activities; presenting reports and analyses on technicians' contracts and activities; managing lifecycle contracts with third parties; overseeing project grants from agreement signing to closure; reviewing and analyzing financial and technical reports of grant-funded projects; ensuring compliance with donor requirements; managing and processing grant payments through financial management systems; providing administrative guidance and support to staff; contributing to the visibility of CIMMYT's administrative processes; and performing other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
The selected candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, International Development, or similar fields. A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience is required. The candidate must demonstrate an excellent understanding of project design methods and tools, with the ability to articulate technical metrics into practical operations. Strong conceptual and research/analytical skills are essential, along with experience in project management and reporting tools such as MS Project. Excellent drafting, report writing, and communication skills are necessary, as well as strong interpersonal relations and the ability to work in a multinational environment. Proficiency in MS Office software is required, along with demonstrated abilities in data collection, management, and analysis. The candidate should possess analytical skills to summarize large amounts of information and exhibit a strong level of customer orientation and flexibility, with a high level of attention to detail.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, International Development, or similar areas is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge necessary for effective project management and administration.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally include project management, reporting, and familiarity with grant management processes, as well as the ability to work under pressure and in a results-oriented environment.

Languages:
English is a mandatory requirement for this position and will be tested, with a minimum score of B2 on the CEFR scale. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English is the primary language of communication within the organization.
