Job Overview: The Evaluation Support Consultant will play a crucial role in the Office of Evaluation and Oversight (OVE), which is an independent office reporting directly to the Boards of IDB and IDB Invest. The consultant will assist in the preparation of evaluations and oversight studies, working closely with OVE staff and the administrative team. This position requires a proactive approach to support evaluation teams throughout all stages of the evaluation process, ensuring that evaluations are conducted with high standards of quality and are completed on time. The consultant will also be responsible for data gathering, document preparation, and organizing meetings, making this role integral to the successful execution of evaluations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Evaluation Support Consultant will have a variety of responsibilities, including: serving as the main support officer to assigned evaluation teams, ensuring timely completion of evaluation support processes, gathering data using IDB’s and IIC’s information systems, preparing and formatting documents such as tables, graphs, and presentations, conducting document research, organizing and filing pertinent documents, ensuring proper translation procedures are followed, and assisting with document formatting. Additionally, the consultant will organize team meetings and videoconferences, support the evaluation team leader in monitoring timelines and deliverables, maintain evaluation-related documents, provide travel arrangements support for staff and consultants, and assist in organizing missions to the region, including setting up interviews and liaising with various contacts. On occasion, the consultant may serve as backup to the front office and as Executive Assistant to the OVE Director, as well as assist the Resource Planning and AdministrationSenior Specialist with other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, tourism, public relations, or a similar field. A Master’s degree is considered a plus. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of four (4) years of combined experience in Evaluation, Research, Event Production/Organization, and Public Relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a detail-oriented and highly organized approach to work. The ideal candidate will have experience in evaluation/research and organizing outreach and stakeholder engagement events.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as economics, public policy, tourism, or public relations. A Master’s degree is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile for this role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience, which should include a combination of Evaluation, Research, Event Production/Organization, and Public Relations. Candidates with experience in organizing outreach and stakeholder engagement events will be preferred, as this aligns closely with the responsibilities of the role.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of at least one more Bank language, such as Spanish, Portuguese, or French, is considered a plus and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.
Additional Notes: The contract type for this position is Consultant, and it is a full-time role with a duration of 19 months. The work location is Washington D.C.
