Job Overview:
The National Post Human Resources Associate will be an integral part of the Client Services Team, providing comprehensive administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle. This role involves collaboration with the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and Regional Human Resources Analyst/Specialist to deliver high-quality HR services to clients in both Regional and Country Offices. The position requires a proactive approach to managing recruitment processes, onboarding, and offboarding of staff, as well as maintaining HR data and records. The associate will also support performance management practices and career development strategies, ensuring compliance with UNFPA policies and procedures. This role is crucial in fostering a supportive and efficient HR environment that aligns with UNFPA's mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR administrative support for recruitment management processes, including organizing vacancy announcements, interview logistics, and document management for both international and local recruits.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, managing contract extensions, separations, and liaising with relevant departments.
  • Maintain Human Resources files and records securely and confidentially.
  • Collect and analyze HR data to inform decision-making and optimize data quality.
  • Monitor staffing issues and advise on appointments, extensions, and separations.
  • Support the implementation of performance management practices and facilitate the performance appraisal process.
  • Provide general HR information and process various HR-related correspondence.
  • Guide managers and staff on performance appraisal procedures and coordinate learning and development activities.
  • Participate in meetings and events, taking minutes and ensuring follow-up on action items. 1
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the HRBP or Deputy HR Director.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completed secondary level education (high school or equivalent) is required.
  • At least 6 years of progressively responsible HR and/or administrative experience is required.
  • Proficiency in using computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is essential.
  • Experience with web-based management systems is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required, with a working knowledge of another official UN language being desirable.

Educational Background:
The position requires a completed secondary level education, which is equivalent to high school education. Higher education qualifications may be considered an asset but are not mandatory for this role.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources and/or administrative roles. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of HR processes and the ability to manage various administrative tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of another official UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse UN environment.
