Job Overview:
The Lead - Finance, Landscape Restoration position at WRI India is pivotal in executing the Food, Land and Water (FLW) program, which aims to transition India towards sustainable food and land use systems. The role involves leading and implementing finance-related strategies for landscape restoration, which is increasingly recognized as a vital approach to achieving food and water security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, enhancing biodiversity, and creating jobs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sustainable financial models, engaging with various stakeholders, and advocating for progressive restoration finance policies. This position requires a blend of strategic planning, project management, and partnership development to ensure the successful execution of restoration finance projects and to unlock funding for restoration initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Lead - Finance, Landscape Restoration include:
  • Executing restoration finance strategy and projects (60%): - Lead the execution of restoration finance and markets projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with timelines, scope, and quality standards. - Monitor and evaluate project performance, ensuring effective financial disbursement and risk management. - Develop sustainable financial models and instruments to unlock funding for restoration projects. - Design comprehensive investment strategies, identifying key public, private, and blended finance sources. - Conduct research to identify knowledge gaps and improve the quality of restoration finance. - Advocate for progressive restoration finance policies at various governmental levels.
  • Program Management (20%): - Support strategic planning and delivery of program goals. - Mentor an interdisciplinary team, fostering innovation and collaboration. - Manage the program’s budget and ensure financial sustainability. - Oversee the collection and reporting of project indicators.
  • Partnership and engagement (20%): - Develop new partnerships to advance program strategy. - Represent the organization at external meetings and events. - Promote the tools and solutions offered by the FLW program.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include: - A Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. - A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning and project leadership within finance and natural resource management sectors. - Proven experience in leading teams to design and deliver market-oriented solutions. - Familiarity with corporate business or financial systems related to land use and restoration. - Understanding of finance, restoration, sustainability investments, and green finance. - Proficiency in developing financial models for investment analysis. - Excellent communication and partner management skills. - Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of finance and its application in landscape restoration and natural resource management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in strategic planning and project leadership within the finance and natural resource management sectors. Candidates should have experience leading teams and implementing market-oriented solutions, as well as familiarity with financial instruments related to land use and restoration.

Languages:
Professional fluency in English is mandatory, while fluency in an additional Indian language, such as Hindi, is considered an advantage. This linguistic capability is important for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in New Delhi, India, with a contract duration of 2 years, extendable based on performance and project requirements. The salary range for this position is between 25,00,000 to 34,00,000 CTC per annum, commensurate with experience and skills.
