Job Overview: The CID/CID is seeking an economic support consultant to contribute to the region's objectives with a focus on economic analysis. This role requires a professional with expertise in data analysis related to macroeconomics, household surveys, and input-output matrixes. The consultant will play a crucial role in analyzing the macroeconomic effects of investing in education, reviewing relevant literature, and conducting data analysis on household consumption patterns and education usage. The position also involves contributing to written analyses regarding the impact of educational investments on macroeconomic aggregates, making it essential for the consultant to possess strong analytical and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
Contributing to the agenda focused on the macroeconomic effects of investing in education.
Reviewing existing literature on the macroeconomic impacts of changes in public expenditure, particularly in the education sector.
Conducting data analysis on household consumption patterns and the utilization of public and private education through household surveys.
Analyzing domestic value-added and production origins by sector using input-output matrixes.
Assisting in the preparation of written analyses that detail the effects of educational investments on macroeconomic aggregates.
Collaborating with team members to ensure comprehensive and accurate economic assessments are produced.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Technical Degree or an equivalent advanced degree in economics, statistics, or a related field relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of econometric packages, household surveys, and input-output matrixes. The ideal candidate will also exhibit soft skills such as being result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, and an excellent communicator. Self-motivation and effective time management are also essential attributes for success in this role.
Educational Background: A Technical Degree or an equivalent advanced degree in economics, statistics, or other relevant fields is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of economic analysis and data interpretation necessary for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in economic analysis or a related field. This experience should ideally include work with data analysis, macroeconomic assessments, and familiarity with household surveys and input-output matrixes, which are critical for the responsibilities outlined in this position.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and candidates should also have a working knowledge of at least one other Bank language, such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
