Job Overview: The Senior Associate position within CHAI's Global Markets Team (GMT) is designed for a highly motivated individual who will support market-shaping activities, particularly focusing on the Wolbachia program for dengue control and emerging opportunities at the intersection of climate and health. The role involves driving analytical work to design and implement strategies that ensure sustainable access to critical health technologies in low- and middle-income countries. The Senior Associate will be responsible for leading market analysis, developing strategies, and collaborating with various stakeholders to overcome market barriers and enhance the implementation of health interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Wolbachia Program: Lead market analysis and strategy development to scale up Wolbachia-based interventions for dengue control in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify market barriers and opportunities for Wolbachia implementation. Develop supply-side strategies and negotiate agreements with suppliers to ensure affordability and access. Support country teams in planning for Wolbachia program implementation.
Climate & Health: Conduct landscape analyses to identify high-impact opportunities at the intersection of climate change and global health. Develop market-shaping strategies for climate-resilient health technologies and interventions. Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal writing and donor engagement.
General Responsibilities: Manage the development of databases, analyses, and frameworks to assist in identifying and prioritizing market-shaping interventions. Analyze market dynamics, supplier landscapes, and production economics across a range of products and geographies. Create clear communication materials based on analyses and present findings to diverse audiences. Support relationship management with senior-level stakeholders internal and external to CHAI. Execute other responsibilities as needed by the team.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment such as management consulting, public health, or pharmaceuticals.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modeling skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree is required for this position, ideally in a field related to public health, management, or a similar discipline that provides a strong foundation for the analytical and strategic work involved in the role.
Experience: Candidates should have 3–5 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Experience in management consulting, public health, or pharmaceuticals is particularly valuable, as it equips candidates with the necessary skills to navigate complex health systems and market dynamics.
Languages: While English is mandatory, additional language skills, particularly in regions affected by dengue, are considered advantageous. This can enhance communication and collaboration with local stakeholders and partners.
