Job Overview: The Digital Communications Consultant position is integral to the UNFPA Kyrgyzstan Country Office, where the consultant will be responsible for executing social media strategies and enhancing digital engagement efforts. This role requires a dynamic and motivated individual who can contribute to the organization's mission through effective planning and implementation of digital communication strategies. The consultant will provide expertise in content creation, social media management, audience engagement, and analytics, ensuring that UNFPA's messages reach and resonate with the target audience. The consultant will also play a crucial role in promoting UNFPA's transformative results and advocating for reproductive health and rights in Kyrgyzstan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Social Media and Digital Engagement: The consultant will be expected to schedule at least 12-15 social media posts per month across various platforms, ensuring timely responses to 80% of messages and comments within 24 hours. They will conduct monthly trend analysis and reporting to inform engagement strategies and collaborate with internal teams to align key messages with UNFPA Kyrgyzstan’s programmatic priorities. The consultant will also manage at least one paid social media campaign monthly, aiming for a 2-5% increase in audience engagement and reach, and will produce a comprehensive digital engagement report each month.
Content Production & Visual Storytelling: The consultant will be responsible for producing at least 6 reels videos and 6-8 visual assets monthly, ensuring all content adheres to UNFPA branding guidelines. They will also manage digital assets, updating and categorizing 20-30 new assets each month for structured content storage.
Strategic Digital Campaigns & Related Partnerships: The consultant will implement at least one thematic digital campaign every 2-3 months and establish partnerships with 1-2 influencers or digital collaborators monthly. They will also secure 1-2 media mentions or collaborations each month to enhance UNFPA's visibility and outreach.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary school completion certificate, with a first university degree in communication, marketing, media, law, literature, public relations, development studies, international development, or a related field considered an asset. A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in social media, digital marketing, event management, and editorial production is required, preferably within NGOs, private companies, publishing outlets, or international organizations. Experience in developing and implementing social media or digital marketing strategies, particularly focused on gender equality, girls' empowerment, sexual and reproductive health, family planning, or data visualization, is essential. Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop and InDesign, as well as video production tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a secondary school completion certificate, with a first university degree in relevant fields such as communication, marketing, media, law, literature, public relations, development studies, or international development being advantageous. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of digital communication and marketing strategies.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, event management, and editorial production. Candidates should have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective social media or digital marketing strategies, particularly in areas related to gender equality, girls' empowerment, and sexual and reproductive health. Experience in video production and content creation for social media platforms is also essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Languages: Proven ability to write flawless copy in both Kyrgyz and Russian is required, with fluency in English considered an asset. The ability to communicate effectively in these languages is crucial for engaging with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a local individual consultant role with a contract duration of 10 months, with the possibility of extension. It is a part-time position, and the monthly fee is expected to be in the range of USD 700-800, subject to negotiation. Payment will be made in monthly installments upon satisfactory delivery of associated deliverables and submission of progress reports.
