Job Overview: The Reproductive Health Clinical Expert will play a crucial role in supporting PSI’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) department. This position is designed for an experienced practitioner with extensive knowledge of the global SRH landscape. The expert will provide technical input into various scoping workstreams focused on reproductive health innovation and product development. Responsibilities include advising on clinical expertise, contributing to external communications and publications, and participating in strategic discussions with donors and research and development partners. The role requires a commitment to enhancing quality of care and addressing clinical questions related to adverse events, ensuring that PSI's initiatives align with best practices in reproductive health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical input into landscaping activities related to reproductive health innovation and product development.
Contribute to external communications and publications, ensuring that clinical expertise is reflected in all materials.
Participate in co-creation sessions, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance reproductive health initiatives.
Advise on key risks and opportunities from a clinical and quality of care perspective, ensuring that all projects adhere to high standards.
Act as a resource for the Quality-of-Care team, addressing clinical care questions and providing guidance on challenging adverse events.
Engage in strategic discussions with donors and R&D partners as needed, representing PSI’s interests and expertise in reproductive health.
Stay updated on the latest developments in the SRH field to inform PSI’s strategies and initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a practicing OBGYN in the United States.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the global sexual and reproductive health space, with a preference for experience in health markets in Africa and Asia.
Proven expertise in quality of care and adverse events management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; PSI will not sponsor work visas for this position.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a medical degree with a specialization in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN). Additional certifications or training in sexual and reproductive health, public health, or related fields may be advantageous.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the sexual and reproductive health sector, particularly in roles that involve quality of care and management of adverse events. Experience working in diverse health markets, especially in Africa and Asia, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: This position is a remote role with a contract duration of one year. The work will be conducted on an as-needed basis, with task orders set up according to project requirements. The role reports to Abigail Winskell, Project Director of the SRH department. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, and PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
