Job Overview: The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for delivering and implementing the Human Resource Strategy in alignment with the country programs. This role involves designing and aligning human resource policies and procedures while leading the management and administration of employee welfare and relations in accordance with Tanzania labor laws and Action Against Hunger's mandate and policies. The purpose of this position is to position Action Against Hunger Tanzania as an employer of choice, providing a compelling employee value proposition that aligns with the country strategy, core values, and mandate. The HR Manager will engage with staff and management to promote and address their needs, build effective networks with government and HR service providers, and deliver strategic HR goals and projects across multiple functions. This role also includes providing practical support and advice to staff and management on HR, administrative, and program activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Human Resource Manager will lead and provide strategic direction as outlined in the human resource management strategy, contributing to processes that enhance organizational development and leadership within the Tanzania country office. Key responsibilities include devising and implementing recruitment strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent, developing and aligning HR policies and procedures with Tanzania labor laws, championing a strong performance management culture, implementing compensation and benefit frameworks, monitoring HR budgets, and building relationships with government agencies and stakeholders. The HR Manager will also represent Action Against Hunger in HR-related networks, lead onboarding and deboarding processes, and develop staff training and development plans.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in Human Resource Management or Organizational Psychology from a recognized institution. Additionally, a minimum of seven years of experience in implementing HR interventions within an International NGO is required, with at least three years in a senior HR management role. Membership in a Human Resources professional body is also necessary.
