Job Overview: The Cybersecurity Specialist at WWF plays a critical role in enhancing the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security posture of the organization’s information systems. This position is responsible for supporting various cybersecurity initiatives, which include monitoring and analyzing security alerts, developing incident response plans, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Cybersecurity Specialist will work closely with the Cybersecurity and Information Technology teams to implement security policies and controls, thereby safeguarding WWF's digital assets. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information, as well as in responding effectively to security incidents and breaches. The position is initially a 1-year assignment, with the possibility of extension, and offers a competitive salary range of $82,400 to $103,000.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including but not limited to: monitoring and analyzing security alerts and logs to identify potential threats; responding to and mitigating security incidents promptly; recommending corrective actions and remediation strategies; conducting vulnerability assessments and coordinating penetration testing; implementing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and controls; developing and revising documentation related to security processes; managing the Information Security Management System (ISMS); ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as CIS, PCI, and ISO standards; staying updated on cybersecurity trends and threats; coordinating security awareness training programs; collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure information systems; and evaluating and implementing new security tools and technologies. The specialist may also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall security framework of the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience in policy and compliance regulation within the field of Cybersecurity. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology is required, or equivalent work experience supported by Cybersecurity certifications. Systems administrators or IT professionals with a background in Cybersecurity are encouraged to apply. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a consistent team player attitude and a customer service orientation. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed and global team environment is crucial, as well as strong organizational and project management skills, including the development of detailed project plans. Candidates should demonstrate strategic and business acumen alongside strong technical skills, particularly in troubleshooting technical problems.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology. Alternatively, candidates may possess Cybersecurity certifications that provide equivalent work experience.
