Job Overview:
CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, autonomous, and service-oriented individual for the position of Auxiliar de cocina within the corporate services program. This position will be based at CIMMYT's headquarters in El Batán, Texcoco, Mexico, which is approximately 45 minutes from Mexico City. The role involves ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in food and beverage areas, supporting daily operations in the Food and Beverage department, and assisting in food preparation and customer service. The Auxiliar de cocina will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service efficiency, contributing to the overall success of the food service operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Auxiliar de cocina will be responsible for cleaning all food and beverage areas according to the guidelines set by Distintivo H, using appropriate cleaning products to ensure safety in food preparation and service processes. Responsibilities include: performing both surface and deep cleaning of kitchen areas, dining rooms, community kitchens, storage areas, cafeterias, food trucks, grocery stores, vending machines, service units, and BBQ areas; deep cleaning kitchen equipment such as refrigeration units, stoves, grills, ovens, tables, sinks, and utensils; managing waste disposal and ensuring proper handling of organic and inorganic waste; supporting daily operations in the Food and Beverage area to ensure service efficiency; assisting in food preparation including soups, rice, main dishes, desserts, snacks, and accompaniments; handling cash transactions and customer service at various sales points; receiving suppliers and verifying delivered products; and providing support during special events and catering services. The role also includes contributing to the documentation required for the recertification of food and beverage area standards and reporting any anomalies in facilities and equipment to the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have completed at least high school education. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required. Basic computer skills are necessary, along with knowledge in food and beverage preparation. The candidate must be available to work flexible hours and rotate shifts. Basic knowledge of English is required, and it is desirable for the candidate to have a driver's license and the ability to drive. The selected individual should demonstrate competencies in communication, teamwork, customer orientation, and problem-solving.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed at least a high school education. Additional training or certifications in food safety, hygiene, or culinary arts would be advantageous but are not mandatory.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required. Experience in food service operations, kitchen maintenance, and customer service is essential for this position.

Languages:
Basic knowledge of English is required. Proficiency in Spanish is essential as it is the primary language of communication within the organization.
