  • It covers fifteen countries including Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Comoros, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Madagascar, and Rwanda. The office is currently operational in nine of these countries and has a portfolio of over 30 projects. With more than 260 employees, the CDMCO has established strong partnerships with international donors, UN agencies, and Central African governments. The organization focuses on providing technical support and capacity building in strategic national development, particularly in sustainable infrastructure across various sectors such as health, education, public works, governance, and administration. Job Overview:
The Communication Senior Analyst will work under the guidance of the Head of Partnerships Development and Communication, closely coordinating with the CAMCO Partnerships Development Office and the African Regional Office. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement an internal and external communication strategy for various projects and offices managed by CAMCO. This includes ensuring that communication strategies align with donor requirements and the overall vision of the office. The analyst will be responsible for managing external communications across all channels, maintaining a content calendar, and producing various communication materials such as media releases, newsletters, and social media content. The role also involves evaluating the effectiveness of communication activities and ensuring that they meet the objectives of the MCO.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an external communication strategy and communication plan for the Project and country offices, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and the Communications Group in UNOPS.
  • Coordinate external communications across all channels, managing a communications content calendar.
  • Prepare and coordinate the production of communication materials for distribution to media, local authorities, donors, partners, and civil society organizations.
  • Develop communication products including media releases, press kits, case studies, and social media content.
  • Maintain and update content on the MCO’s social media platforms, ensuring they reflect the MCO’s objectives and achievements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with UN system communication teams and local media.
  • Conduct media monitoring and compile coverage of the office's work.
  • Organize events such as press conferences and seminars, preparing necessary materials and talking points.
  • Support knowledge management by promoting the use of evidence and experiences from projects and partners. 1
  • Actively participate in UN and UNOPS communication forums.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, Political Science, or International Relations is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in journalism, communications, or public relations, preferably at the international level.
  • Strong understanding of technology, web, design, editorial, digital, social media, and multimedia platforms.
  • Experience in project communication and regional level communication on development results is desirable.
  • Prior experience in international organizations or post-disaster contexts is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, Political Science, or International Relations is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree combined with 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree.

Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in journalism, communications, or public relations is required, with a preference for experience at the international level. Candidates should have a solid understanding of how to leverage technology and various media platforms to create engaging and informative content. Experience in project communication and working with international organizations, especially in development or emergency contexts, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Full working knowledge of French and English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
