Job Overview:
The position within the Global Partnerships Office is crucial for enhancing the IDB Group's strategic partnerships and resource mobilization activities in Asia. The office focuses on strategic engagement and partnership building with a variety of stakeholders, including international institutions, NGOs, and private sector partners. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the ASI team by enhancing strategic dialogues with member countries and key stakeholders, aligning efforts with the IDB Group's priorities. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential partners and reporting on strategic activities, particularly in resource mobilization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for a wide range of business support functions, including:
  • Designing and implementing a data-driven system to enhance efficiency in institutional engagement activities. This includes tracking operational opportunities and increasing responsiveness to consultations.
  • Conducting mapping and landscaping exercises to identify potential partners and stakeholders in member countries across Asia.
  • Gathering data to analyze partnership opportunities and potential funding sources to support the IDB Group's mandate.
  • Supporting outreach and partnership activities with multilateral organizations in Asia.
  • Coordinating project management tasks, including logistical planning for high-level forums, conferences, and internal meetings.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and communication activities, disseminating best practices through various media, and improving the ASI website and communication tools.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, International Development, Economics, or related fields. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a client-focused mindset. Key skills include continuous learning, effective communication, and innovative thinking.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, International Development, or Economics is mandatory for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the role and to effectively engage with various stakeholders.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in partnership building, resource mobilization, or related fields. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in similar roles, demonstrating their ability to manage complex projects and engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in Japanese is mandatory, along with a strong command of English. These language skills are essential for effective communication with local partners and stakeholders, as well as for reporting and documentation purposes.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time National Consultant position based in Tokyo, Japan, with a contract duration of 12 months.
