Job Overview:
The Advocacy Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advocacy strategies aimed at influencing policy and decision-making processes related to the Syria crisis. This position requires a deep understanding of the humanitarian landscape in Syria, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and community leaders. The Advocacy Manager will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and crafting compelling narratives that highlight the needs and rights of affected populations. Additionally, the role involves building partnerships and coalitions to amplify advocacy efforts and ensure that the voices of those impacted by the crisis are heard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advocacy strategies that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis on key issues affecting the Syria crisis to inform advocacy efforts.
• Engage with government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote policy changes that benefit affected populations.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and policy briefs to communicate advocacy messages effectively.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and international partners to strengthen advocacy initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of advocacy activities and adjust strategies as necessary.
• Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and public events to raise awareness about the crisis and advocate for change.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to advocacy and communication efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in advocacy, public policy, or related fields, preferably in a humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of the political and social dynamics in Syria and the broader region.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear messages.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in advocacy, public policy, or humanitarian work is required. Experience working in conflict-affected areas, particularly in Syria, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region would be considered an asset.
