Job Overview:
The Information Management Specialist position is integral to the consortium management structure for the 'Pathways to Protection' (P2P) project, which is a collaborative effort involving the Danish Refugee Council, Danish Red Cross, and The International Detention Coalition. The role involves leading data management processes, ensuring data quality, and supporting data analysis and visualization efforts. The specialist will be responsible for overseeing data collection, cleaning, validation, and storage, while also providing training and support to field staff. This position requires a strong understanding of quantitative data management and the ability to develop tools for effective data analysis and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Information Management Specialist include:
  • Leading the management of data, ensuring the maintenance of the data collection platform, and ensuring data protection guidelines are met.
  • Migrating collected data into appropriate formats and ensuring the availability of clean datasets for regional and global use.
  • Identifying and implementing changes to surveys based on data trends.
  • Contributing to the development of new surveys and modules as per project needs.
  • Conducting training for field staff on data collection tools and conducting field missions to support data collection efforts.
  • Responding to quantitative data analysis requests and creating visual and written materials for presentations.
  • Developing tools for tracking data quality and providing training on information management skills.
  • Assisting the team with administrative tasks related to information management.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • Demonstrated experience in data management, cleaning, validation, and storage.
  • Experience with electronic data collection procedures and solutions such as ODK, Kobo, Qualtrics, ONA, and SurveyCTO.
  • A degree in statistics, economics, data analysis, or a relevant computer science field.
  • Experience in training data collection teams and contributing to the development of survey tools.
  • Previous experience working with international NGOs and familiarity with GIS theory and software.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis using software applications like Excel, STATA, R, and Python.
  • Experience in data visualization applications such as PowerBi is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a rigorous approach to quantitative data.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree in statistics, economics, data analysis, or a relevant computer science degree. This educational background is essential for understanding data management principles and methodologies necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of experience working in quantitative research. Candidates should have a proven track record in data management and analysis, as well as experience in training and supporting data collection teams. Previous experience with international NGOs is highly valued, as it demonstrates an understanding of the humanitarian context in which the DRC operates.

Languages:
Full professional proficiency in English and French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing the ability to communicate effectively in the region.

Additional Notes:
The contract length for this position is 12 months, and it is classified as a non-management level 2 role. The designation of the duty station is unaccompanied/family duty station, indicating that the position may be suitable for individuals with or without family. The expected start date for this role is April 1, 202
