Job Overview:
The Digital Communications Consultant position is integral to the UNFPA Kyrgyzstan Country Office, focusing on enhancing the organization's digital presence and engagement through effective social media strategies. The consultant will be responsible for planning and implementing digital communication strategies that align with UNFPA's mission. This role requires a dynamic individual who can create compelling content, manage social media platforms, engage with audiences, and analyze performance metrics to inform future strategies. The consultant will work closely with internal teams to ensure that messaging aligns with programmatic priorities and will be expected to contribute to the overall digital engagement efforts of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Social Media and Digital Engagement: Schedule at least 12-15 posts per month across various platforms, ensuring timely responses to 80% of messages within 24 hours. Conduct monthly trend analysis and reporting to inform engagement strategies. Collaborate with internal teams to develop 2-3 key messages monthly that align with UNFPA Kyrgyzstan’s priorities. Implement at least one paid social media campaign monthly, aiming for a 2-5% increase in audience engagement. Provide a comprehensive digital engagement report monthly.
  • Content Production & Visual Storytelling: Produce at least 6 reels videos and 6-8 visual assets monthly, ensuring compliance with UNFPA branding guidelines. Manage digital assets by updating and categorizing 20-30 new assets monthly.
  • Strategic Digital Campaigns & Partnerships: Implement a thematic digital campaign every 2-3 months and establish partnerships with influencers or digital collaborators monthly. Secure media mentions or collaborations at least 1-2 times per month.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in social media, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, event management, and editorial production. Proven experience in developing and implementing social media strategies with a focus on gender equality and youth empowerment is essential. Familiarity with design software such as Photoshop and InDesign, as well as video production tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, is required. Candidates should also have experience in misinformation management and digital engagement approaches.

Educational Background:
A secondary school completion is required, and a first university degree in communication, marketing, media, law, literature, public relations, development studies, international development, or a related field is considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant work experience in social media and digital marketing, particularly within NGOs, private companies, or international organizations. Experience in creating and implementing strategies focused on gender equality and youth empowerment is crucial, along with a portfolio demonstrating this expertise.

Languages:
Proven ability to write flawless copy in both Kyrgyz and Russian is required, with fluency in English considered an asset. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in these languages under tight deadlines.

Additional Notes:
This position is a part-time local individual consultant role with a contract duration of 10 months, with the possibility of extension. The monthly fee is negotiable, typically ranging from USD 700-800, and payment will be made upon satisfactory delivery of deliverables.
