Job Overview:
The Public Information Intern position at UNODA is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in the field of public information and communication within a prestigious international organization. The internship is expected to last for a maximum of six months, during which the intern will work closely with the Regional Disarmament, Information and Outreach Branch. The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the office's mission of disseminating information on disarmament issues. This role is particularly suited for candidates who are passionate about international relations, communication, and public outreach, and who are looking to enhance their skills in a dynamic and multicultural environment. The internship is unpaid and requires full-time commitment, although part-time, remote, or hybrid arrangements may be considered based on the intern's needs and the supervisor's approval.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will undertake a range of responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to: reviewing news platforms to create integrated disarmament news summaries for senior management; assisting with strategic communication and public outreach initiatives; developing media products for web and social media platforms; managing content related to disarmament stories to enhance public awareness; drafting and editing publications such as fact sheets, brochures, and newsletters; designing presentations and materials to promote the visibility of UNODA; and contributing creative ideas for design projects that support the office's objectives. The intern will also be expected to perform any additional duties as assigned by their supervisor, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with disarmament issues and public information strategies is advantageous.

Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or be enrolled in a graduate program. This educational background should ideally be in fields related to international relations, communications, public policy, or a related discipline that equips them with the necessary skills for the internship.

Experience:
While prior professional experience is not mandatory, any relevant internships or volunteer work in communications, public relations, or international affairs will be considered an asset. Languages:
