Job Overview:
The Energy Technology Analyst position at the OECD involves working with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to analyze energy technology trends and alternative technology choices. The successful candidate will be responsible for energy modeling and quantitative analysis, contributing to the Energy Technology Perspectives report and other high-profile publications. The role requires a strong background in energy modeling, with a focus on sectors such as buildings, industry, transport, and electricity generation. The analyst will collaborate with a team of professionals and report to the head of the Technology Innovation Unit, ensuring that their work aligns with the IEA's objectives and contributes to the organization's mission of promoting sustainable energy practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Energy Technology Analyst will assume responsibility for technology characterization and modeling within relevant sectoral models. Key duties include leading quantitative analysis of energy technology issues, coordinating the preparation and drafting of reports, and staying updated on energy, technology, and policy developments. The analyst will collaborate with other directorates, participate in meetings of IEA standing committees, and maintain contacts with national delegations and international organizations. Additionally, the analyst will promote the IEA's work through workshops, presentations, and meetings, ensuring effective communication of findings and recommendations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in relevant disciplines such as engineering, mathematics, or economics. They should have at least three to seven years of experience in applied economic and policy analysis, preferably within the energy sector. A strong understanding of energy sector dynamics, excellent quantitative skills, and proven analytical abilities are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent writing skills through past work products, such as analytical reports and published papers.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as engineering, mathematics, or economics is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding complex energy systems and conducting quantitative analysis.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three to seven years of professional experience in applied economic and policy analysis, ideally within the energy context. Candidates should have a solid understanding of energy sector dynamics and experience in constructing and utilizing large-scale energy models and datasets.

Languages:
Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) is mandatory, along with knowledge of the other language. Candidates should be committed to achieving a good working level in the second language, as effective communication is crucial in this role.

The position is a 24-month fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal for up to 36 months. The monthly salary starts at 6,852 EUR, depending on the candidate's level of experience.
