Job Overview: The position of Graphic Designer for the UN Country Results Report (UNCRR) involves the creative design and layout development of the 2024 report for Bahrain. The designer will be responsible for producing both English and Arabic versions of the report in PDF format for web and print, as well as providing editable source files. The role requires a strong emphasis on making the document visually appealing and easy to understand for external audiences, utilizing various design elements such as infographics and icons. The designer will work under the supervision of the Director of UNIC Manama, ensuring that the final product meets the expectations of the Bahrain Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a final design template for the 2024 UN Country Results Report for Bahrain, including layout and graphic design mockups for both English and Arabic versions.
Create the designed English version of the report based on the approved template and provided content from the Bahrain RCO.
Ensure proper alignment of design elements, make necessary adjustments, and deliver the final designed English version in both PDF and editable formats.
Collaborate with the Bahrain RCO to update graphical elements with Arabic translations, ensuring alignment and adjustments to the design for the Arabic version.
Provide the final designed Arabic version of the report in both PDF and editable formats, ensuring all design elements are properly aligned and adjusted as needed.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in design, visual communications, or a related field is required. Candidates must submit a copy of their educational degree, as incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of three years of experience in graphic design or visual communications is required, with previous experience in designing similar reports being essential. Experience working with NGOs, particularly the UN, and an understanding of their communication requirements is desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in design, visual communications, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the principles of design and visual communication necessary for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in graphic design or visual communications. Candidates should have a proven track record of designing reports or similar documents, with a preference for those who have worked with NGOs or the United Nations, as familiarity with their communication standards is beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, with 'fluency' defined as a rating of 'fluent' in all four areas: speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.
