Job Overview:
The UN Assistant Pool 3 position is designed to support the operational and administrative functions of UN missions in West and Southern Africa. The role involves providing essential assistance in various areas, including project management, logistics, and coordination of activities. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to develop project plans and monitor progress, identifying any potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and gathering feedback as needed.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations, ensuring accuracy and clarity of information.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making processes and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives, sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
  • Uphold the values and principles of the UN in all interactions and work activities, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in drafting reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Familiarity with UN policies and procedures is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in international relations, public administration, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in administrative support, project management, or a related field is required. Experience working in an international organization or in a multicultural environment is highly desirable.

Languages:
