Job Overview: The position of Praktikant*in in the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp) is designed to support the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) in fostering strategic political dialogue on the energy transition between India and Germany. The intern will be involved in both content-related and organizational tasks, contributing to the development of green hydrogen markets and Power-to-X applications in India. This role is crucial for assisting in the early phases of green hydrogen project development and involves collaboration with the private sector, organizing training sessions, study trips, workshops, and conferences to promote knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
Collaborating and communicating with project partners and stakeholders in both Germany and India.
Conducting research, analysis, and preparation of technical topics related to renewable energies, hydrogen, Power-to-X, and energy efficiency.
Assisting in the preparation of contracts, including budget management.
Supporting the conceptualization and organization of dialogue events and workshops with partner countries and institutions.
Providing content support for the preparation of specialized events.
Assisting in the planning, execution, and follow-up of events and project initiation trips in Germany.
Supporting daily project management tasks, such as preparing for and following up on internal meetings.
Assisting in public relations and external communication efforts, including the creation of infographics and studies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a completed bachelor's degree or be currently enrolled in a master's program in fields such as engineering, geography, political science, social sciences, environmental studies, communication sciences, international relations, or related disciplines. Knowledge in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects is desirable, particularly in hydrogen and Power-to-X. Candidates should also have initial professional experience in project/event management and public relations, which can include internships or assistant roles, especially in GIZ partner countries. The ability to work in an intercultural environment is essential, along with strong conceptual and analytical skills, excellent organizational and communication abilities, and proficiency in MS Office applications.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a completed bachelor's degree or ongoing master's studies in relevant fields such as engineering, social sciences, environmental studies, or international relations. The candidate must be currently enrolled in a program that requires an internship or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: The position requires initial professional experience, which can include internships or assistant roles in relevant fields. Experience in project/event management and public relations is preferred, particularly in contexts related to renewable energy and energy efficiency. Familiarity with working in partner countries of GIZ is advantageous, as is the ability to navigate intercultural work environments.
Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for this position. Candidates should possess negotiation-level proficiency in these languages to effectively communicate with stakeholders and partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.

The monthly stipend for interns is €2,205.04 (gross), with an additional monthly allowance based on the country of deployment, as determined by GIZ.
