Job Overview:
The Strategy Officer (SO) will be based in New Delhi and will lead high-impact strategy projects in collaboration with program leadership. This role involves developing processes for effective execution of the approved strategy and working closely with executive sponsors, including Program Directors and Deputy Directors. The SO will independently shape strategies and implementation, focusing on areas such as health, gender, financial services, agriculture, and sanitation. The position requires a proactive approach to tackling complex problems and crafting transformative strategies for vulnerable communities in India. The SO will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing trends, managing project deliverables, and facilitating investment processes, ensuring that strategies are informed by data and evidence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Strategy Officer will lead projects aimed at developing strategies and strategic recommendations for specific areas of work. Responsibilities include designing and performing analytical work to support strategy development, creating project plans, meeting materials, and strategic narratives. The SO will provide project management support for cross-cutting strategy projects, manage the strategy development process with a focus on customer orientation, and facilitate discussions with internal teams and external partners. The role also involves collaborating with various staff to design processes for strategy development and investment execution, employing strategic tools for assessment, and managing external partnerships. The SO will be responsible for making and managing grants/contracts and participating in foundation-wide activities, all while adhering to the foundation's core values and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MBA or other advanced Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Health, Economics, or Sciences. A minimum of five years of professional experience in strategy consulting or strategic planning roles is required. Ideal candidates will have experience in drafting strategies in public health and communicating recommendations to diverse partners, including senior executives. Familiarity with the Indian public policy landscape and key partners is essential, along with excellent oral, written, and facilitation skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to function successfully in demanding environments and possess strong quantitative and financial knowledge, critical thinking capabilities, and organizational skills.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree such as an MBA or a Master's in a relevant field is mandatory for this position. The educational background should ideally include studies related to business, health, economics, or sciences, which will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of strategy development and execution in the nonprofit sector.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of relevant professional experience, particularly in strategy consulting or strategic planning roles. Experience in both the development and private sectors is highly desirable, as it provides a well-rounded perspective on strategy formulation and implementation. Familiarity with global health and development issues is also preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead teams effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as the role requires excellent communication skills for drafting documents and facilitating discussions. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not explicitly required for this position.
