Job Overview:
The IC Automotive Market Consultant position is designed to provide specialized support to the Development Agency of Serbia (DAS) and the Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) Unit. The consultant will play a crucial role in formulating policies that promote investments in the green sector, which is increasingly important in the context of global sustainability efforts. The consultant will also assist in facilitating and diversifying investment projects within Serbia, ensuring that the country attracts and retains investments that align with its environmental goals. This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive market and investment strategies, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to drive policy development and project implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities for investment in the green automotive sector in Serbia.
  • Collaborate with the DAS and FDI Unit to develop strategic policies that encourage foreign direct investment in sustainable automotive initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders, including government officials, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations, to promote dialogue and collaboration on investment projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on market trends, investment opportunities, and policy recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented policies and investment projects, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the development of promotional materials and campaigns to attract foreign investors to Serbia's green automotive sector.
  • Stay updated on global trends in the automotive industry and sustainability practices to inform policy development and investment strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in automotive market analysis and investment strategies, particularly in the context of green technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory and policy environment related to foreign direct investment in Serbia.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in investment analysis or sustainable development would be advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in market consulting, investment analysis, or policy development, particularly in the automotive or green technology sectors. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Serbian is highly desirable, and knowledge of other languages relevant to the region would be considered an asset.

  • The consultant is expected to work full-time on this assignment, and the position is based in Serbia. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and the consultant will be expected to adhere to UNDP's procurement and contracting policies.
