Job Overview:
The position involves working as a consultant for the collection and systematization of data for the evaluation of the Sembrando Vida project in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala. The consultant will be responsible for conducting both quantitative and qualitative data collection activities, which are essential for assessing the project's impact and effectiveness. The role requires a commitment to working remotely, with the possibility of digital and/or in-person meetings as mutually agreed upon. The consultant must also be prepared to travel to the communities in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala where the project has been implemented, ensuring that data collection is thorough and reflective of the project's outcomes. The estimated duration of the consultancy is 8 weeks, starting in March 2025 and concluding in May 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection activities related to the Sembrando Vida project.
• Systematize the collected data for evaluation purposes.
• Collaborate with the project coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team and the Effective Governance and Democracy Officer at the UNDP Country Office.
• Prepare reports and presentations based on the data analysis.
• Ensure that all data collection methods adhere to ethical standards and best practices.
• Engage with local communities to gather insights and feedback on the project implementation.
• Participate in digital meetings and provide updates on the progress of data collection.
• Travel to the designated communities in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala as necessary for data collection.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in development projects.
• Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with the Sembrando Vida project or similar initiatives is an advantage.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies, statistics, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in the context of international development projects. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the project is based in Spanish-speaking countries. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of additional languages relevant to the project areas (such as Creole or French) would be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is part-time and will require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate meetings and data collection activities. The consultant will be compensated based on the delivery and acceptance of products according to the payment schedule. The position is remote, but the consultant must be willing to travel to the project sites in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala during the consultancy period.
