Job Overview: This position involves providing consultancy services aimed at strengthening the capabilities of officials working in Family Commissions in Colombia. The consultant will focus on enhancing the understanding and application of the Probationary Regime and the REDAM (Registro de Datos de Menores) to improve service delivery to citizens. The role requires a deep understanding of family law and the rights of children and adolescents, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The consultant will be expected to develop training materials, conduct workshops, and provide ongoing support to officials to ensure they are equipped to handle cases effectively and sensitively. This position is crucial for improving the legal framework and support systems for families in Colombia, ensuring that officials are well-prepared to meet the needs of the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current capabilities of Family Commission officials in relation to the Probationary Regime and REDAM.
Develop tailored training programs and materials that address identified gaps in knowledge and skills.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions for officials, ensuring interactive and engaging learning experiences.
Provide ongoing support and consultation to officials as they implement new practices and procedures.
Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations, to promote best practices in family law and child rights.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and outcomes.
Prepare detailed reports on training activities, participant feedback, and recommendations for future improvements.
Stay updated on developments in family law and child rights to ensure that training content remains relevant and effective.
Required Qualifications:
A professional degree in Law or Political Science with a valid professional license.
A specialization or master's degree in Family Law or a related field focusing on the needs and rights of children.
At least 4 years of experience as a lecturer or in positions related to higher education in law or political science, with a focus on Family Law.
Proven track record of academic publications related to family, childhood, and adolescence.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a professional degree in Law or Political Science, complemented by a specialization or master's degree in Family Law or a related field. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in legal principles, particularly those pertaining to family and child rights, as well as an understanding of the socio-political context in which these laws operate.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, particularly in higher education settings. Candidates should have experience in teaching, curriculum development, and training delivery, specifically in areas related to Family Law and the rights of children. Experience in conducting workshops and training sessions is highly desirable, as is a background in academic research and publication.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the role involves working with local officials and communities. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to last for a period of three (3) months. This is a contract position, and candidates should be prepared to work on a full-time basis during this period.
