The expert will be responsible for developing strategies that integrate sustainability into financial practices and policies. The expert will work closely with various teams within UNDP and external partners to ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively to support sustainable development goals. The position is expected to last for a period of 75 calendar days, with the possibility of extension, indicating a project-based nature that may require adaptability and responsiveness to changing project needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Líder de proyecto y experto sénior en finanzas sostenibles include but are not limited to:
  • Leading the design and implementation of sustainable finance projects, ensuring alignment with UNDP’s strategic objectives.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of financial systems and identifying opportunities for integrating sustainability.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and civil society organizations, to promote sustainable finance initiatives.
  • Developing training materials and conducting workshops to enhance the capacity of stakeholders in sustainable finance practices.
  • Monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, providing regular reports to UNDP management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with other UN agencies and international organizations to share best practices and lessons learned in sustainable finance.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP procurement processes and guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in finance, economics, or a related field, with a proven track record in sustainable finance. They should have excellent analytical skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex financial challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development and an understanding of the UNDP’s mission and values. Experience in project management and familiarity with UNDP’s operational procedures will be considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master’s degree in finance, economics, environmental science, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in sustainable finance or project management will be preferred. Experience:
Candidates should have at least 7-10 years of relevant professional experience in finance, with a focus on sustainable finance or related fields. Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable given the location of the position in Equatorial Guinea. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region or international development will be considered an advantage.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of 75 days, and there is a possibility for extension based on project needs and performance. The position is full-time, and candidates should be prepared to work collaboratively with UNDP teams and stakeholders. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP’s remuneration policies.
