The role may require travel to field offices to address conflict situations as needed, and the Consultant will report directly to the Ombudsman, head of the office. This position is essential for fostering a harmonious work environment and ensuring that all personnel have access to effective dispute resolution resources.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as alternative dispute resolution, human resources management, law, humanities, social sciences, or a related area. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of conflict resolution and the legal frameworks applicable within the UN system.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in conflict prevention and management, including experience at the international level. This extensive experience is crucial for effectively navigating the complexities of workplace conflicts and providing appropriate resolutions. Additionally, candidates should have training in providing Ombudsman services and work experience in an ombudsman office, which will enhance their ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
