Job Overview: The position of National Consultant to Support Women Network for Local Development Fund is aimed at providing technical expertise to the project team involved in the initiative 'Supporting Renewable Energy Transition in ger districts for an increased benefit to livelihood.' The consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the capacity of women networks and ensuring their active participation in local development initiatives. The consultant is expected to work closely with various stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and other partners, to facilitate the implementation of the project objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the socio-economic dynamics in Mongolia, particularly in relation to women's empowerment and renewable energy solutions. The consultant will be responsible for developing strategies that promote women's involvement in local development processes, thereby contributing to sustainable livelihoods in ger districts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance and support to the project team in the implementation of activities related to women's networks and local development funds.
Conduct assessments to identify the needs and capacities of women in ger districts, and develop tailored strategies to address these needs.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions aimed at empowering women and enhancing their skills in project management and renewable energy solutions.
Collaborate with local stakeholders to promote the establishment and strengthening of women networks that can effectively engage in local development initiatives.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of the project activities, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Prepare reports and documentation on the outcomes of the project activities, ensuring that lessons learned are captured and shared with relevant stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between the project team and local communities, ensuring that the voices of women are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in working with women's networks and local development initiatives, particularly in the context of Mongolia.
Strong understanding of gender issues and women's empowerment in the context of sustainable development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, gender studies, development studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in gender equality, women's empowerment, and local development projects. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Mongolian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities. Knowledge of other languages relevant to the region may also be beneficial.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is 20 working days over a period of 2 months. This is a consultancy role, and the consultant will be expected to work on a part-time basis. The position is open to national consultants only, and applicants must submit their proposals through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and further details will be provided during the negotiation process.
