Job Overview:
The position of Consultor p gestión de eventos de asuntos multilaterales involves providing comprehensive logistical, communication, and budget management support to the Undersecretariat for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights (SSMH) of Mexico. The consultant will play a crucial role in the organization of high-level events involving multilateral commissions, government bodies, and Mexican representations abroad. The expected duration of the consultancy is approximately 10 months, starting in February 2025 and concluding in December 202
  • The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of event management are executed smoothly and efficiently, meeting the expectations of UNDP and the SSMH. This role requires a full-time commitment and is based in Mexico City, emphasizing the importance of on-site presence to facilitate effective communication and coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Assisting in the planning and organization of high-level multilateral events, ensuring all logistical aspects are addressed.
  • Developing and managing communication strategies to promote the events and engage relevant stakeholders.
  • Preparing and overseeing the budget for events, ensuring compliance with UNDP financial regulations.
  • Coordinating with various governmental and non-governmental entities to facilitate participation and collaboration in events.
  • Providing ongoing support and advice to the SSMH throughout the event planning process, including pre-event, during-event, and post-event evaluations.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables are met in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of UNDP and SSMH.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to event planning and execution.
  • Engaging with international partners and representatives to foster collaboration and support for the events.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in event management, communications, and budget oversight. A proven track record of successfully organizing high-level events, particularly in a multilateral context, is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with UNDP processes and regulations is highly desirable, as is experience working in international development or governmental settings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for this role, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
