Job Overview: The position involves providing technical assistance for field monitoring related to the collection of information for the Social Household Registry (RSH). The consultant will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the project aimed at addressing poverty and inequality through the Government's Intersectoral Strategy. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) and UNDP to ensure that the data collected is accurate and relevant for policy-making. The role requires a deep understanding of social programs and the ability to analyze data effectively. The consultant will also be expected to engage with various stakeholders to facilitate the data collection process and ensure that the objectives of the project are met. This position is crucial for the successful implementation of the project and will contribute significantly to the overall goals of the UNDP in Guatemala.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance in the field for the collection of data related to the Social Household Registry (RSH).
Collaborate with MIDES and UNDP to develop methodologies for data collection and analysis.
Conduct field visits to monitor the data collection process and ensure compliance with established protocols.
Engage with local communities and stakeholders to facilitate the data collection process.
Analyze collected data and prepare reports on findings and recommendations.
Support the training of field staff involved in data collection.
Ensure that all data collected is accurate, reliable, and relevant for decision-making.
Participate in meetings and workshops to discuss progress and challenges related to the project.
Provide feedback and suggestions for improving data collection methodologies. 1
Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports for UNDP and MIDES.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in social programs.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders.
Familiarity with the Social Household Registry (RSH) or similar social programs is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using data analysis software and tools.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, statistics, public administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data collection, analysis, and project implementation in the field of social development or related areas is required. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English is considered an asset and may be beneficial for communication with international stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is project-based, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs and performance. This is a full-time position, and the consultant will be expected to work on-site in Guatemala.
