Job Overview: The position involves working as an individual contractor to enhance consumer confidence by strengthening brand awareness and communications for UNDP in Belize. Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive branding strategy that aligns with UNDP's mission and objectives.
Create and implement communication plans that effectively convey UNDP's initiatives and projects to the public and stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights necessary for effective communication.
Design promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and digital content, to enhance brand visibility.
Organize and facilitate events and workshops aimed at increasing awareness of UNDP's work.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make necessary adjustments.
Engage with media outlets to promote UNDP's initiatives and respond to inquiries.
Provide training and support to staff on communication best practices.
Ensure all communications are consistent with UNDP's branding guidelines and policies.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in branding, marketing, or communications, preferably in a development context.
Strong understanding of communication strategies and tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts.
Familiarity with UNDP's mission and values is an asset.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in branding, marketing, or communications is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a development context is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in managing communication campaigns and projects is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Spanish or other languages spoken in Belize is considered an asset and would be advantageous for this position.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for 85 days, spread over a maximum of 21 months, indicating a flexible work schedule. This position is open to both national and international candidates.
