Job Overview:
The consultancy aims to deliver two capacity-building sessions that focus on applying Social and Behavior Change (SBC) approaches in health and immunization for public health specialists, communication officers from the National Agency of Public Health (NAPH), Ministry of Health (MOH), and UNICEF Moldova staff. The sessions will provide participants with practical knowledge on programming, conceptualizing, developing, evaluating, and implementing interventions and policies designed to influence behavior at various levels. The overarching objectives include building foundational knowledge and applying principles for effective behavior change interventions and policies, as well as establishing confidence in systematic processes for designing and evaluating these interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Workshop Materials: Develop pre-training guidance and assessments, an introductory presentation covering key concepts of SBC, and tailored training materials for both the 2-day and half-day training sessions.
  • Delivering Training: Conduct a 2-day training for public health and communication specialists, facilitating eight practical sessions around programming, development, implementation, and evaluation of behavior change interventions.
  • Deliver a half-day training for UNICEF Moldova staff, focusing on the application of SBC principles.
  • Reporting: Analyze assessment results and training sessions, providing recommendations in a report format.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed within the agreed timelines, with specific tasks outlined for remote and in-country work.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced academic degree in Communication, Social and Behavior Science, Social Marketing, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in communication, social and behavioral science, or social marketing is required. Proven experience in designing and delivering capacity-building training programs on Social and Behavior Change is essential. Experience working in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region is considered an advantage. Candidates must demonstrate UNICEF's values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust, Accountability, and Sustainability (CRITAS).

Educational Background:
An advanced academic degree in Communication, Social and Behavior Science, Social Marketing, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of behavior change and the methodologies required to implement effective interventions.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of professional experience in relevant fields such as communication, social and behavioral science, or social marketing. Candidates should have a strong background in designing and delivering training programs, particularly in the context of social and behavior change, which is critical for the success of the consultancy.

Languages:
Advanced knowledge of English is required for this position. Additionally, knowledge of Romanian or Russian is considered a strong asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the training sessions.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for 15 working days between March and May 2025, with 3 days required in-country. All travel arrangements and expenses will be covered by the selected consultant and should be included in the financial offer.
