SI's teams work with professionalism and commitment while respecting local cultures.
Job Overview: The intern will be integrated into the Accountability and Partnership Development Directorate (RDP) and will work within the Institutional Cooperation Service (SCI), which focuses on three main pillars: maintaining and managing relationships between SI and its institutional funding partners, enhancing internal knowledge of these partners and their procedures, and diversifying the portfolio of institutional partners while prospecting for new funding opportunities. The intern will work under the supervision of the head of the Institutional Cooperation Service and will be part of a team that includes the service head, two institutional cooperation officers, and another assistant. The intern will actively contribute to funding research and understanding institutional partners and their procedures, collaborating with other departments within SI, such as programs, quality assurance, and communication.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's main responsibilities will include: monitoring funding opportunities and institutional partner news through a weekly newsletter, which involves researching and selecting funding opportunities, summarizing them, and disseminating the information; drafting and distributing summaries of calls for projects, funding opportunities, and reports from institutional partners; assisting the head and officers in researching and drafting synthetic documents about various institutional partners to enhance internal knowledge regarding their funding mechanisms and procedures; supporting the service in updating and archiving information and documents related to funding partners, particularly in transferring information to the new internal management software; assisting in the prospecting of new institutional partners; participating in internal and external meetings and writing meeting minutes; and translating working documents from English to French and vice versa using available software and tools.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a higher education degree (bac +4/5) in political science, social sciences, law, international relations, or any other relevant field. However, any relevant experience in grants management, partnership development, or humanitarian work would be advantageous. The intern should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt quickly to the organizational environment and its processes.
Languages: Fluency in both French and English is mandatory for this position. The intern should be able to communicate effectively in both languages, particularly in writing, as the role involves drafting documents and translating materials.
