Job Overview:
The Individual Contractor for Resource Planning and analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Financial Analysis will act as a key focal point for resource planning and analysis within the Division and Mitigation Branch of UNEP. This role is crucial in supporting management to ensure effective allocation, utilization, and monitoring of financial and operational resources. The contractor will lead the development and enhancement of analytical tools and dashboards using software such as Excel, Power BI, and Umoja, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and accessible for planning, monitoring, and reporting purposes. The position requires providing high-quality, data-driven insights to support decision-making, which includes preparing analytical reports, briefing notes, and evidence-based recommendations for senior management. The contractor will also support the planning, forecasting, and monitoring of program and project resources, proactively identifying risks, funding gaps, and opportunities for optimization. Additionally, the contractor will contribute to the implementation of the Programme Operational Support Hub (POSH) and coordinate effectively with various teams to ensure alignment and efficient service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include: acting as a key focal point for resource planning and analysis; leading the development and maintenance of analytical tools and dashboards; providing high-quality data-driven insights; supporting planning, forecasting, and monitoring of resources; contributing to the operationalization of POSH; coordinating with various teams; identifying inefficiencies in processes; providing technical support on the use of Umoja, Excel, and Power BI; preparing periodic and ad hoc reports; and providing operational and administrative support as required. The contractor will also be responsible for setting up and managing data refresh processes for dashboards, defining and tracking KPIs, training users on dashboard navigation, preparing documentation for data processes, and ensuring data quality control.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a university degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, IT, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in resource planning, financial management, program management, data analysis, or related areas is required. The candidate must demonstrate experience in providing strategic advisory support and contributing to decision-making processes. Proven operational expertise in managing complex projects, including planning, coordination, and implementation, is also required. Additionally, experience in data analytics and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI is necessary, while experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like Umoja is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or IT. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of resource planning and financial analysis within the context of environmental programs and projects.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in areas such as resource planning, financial management, program management, and data analysis.
