Job Overview: The position involves consulting on the incorporation of good biodiversity conservation practices within a specific budgetary program aimed at improving access to local markets for rural households with subsistence economies, implemented by FONCODES in Peru. The consultant will be expected to provide expertise in analyzing, designing, and implementing criteria and indicators for good practices in biodiversity conservation and sustainable use. This role is crucial for ensuring that the program aligns with environmental sustainability goals and effectively supports rural communities. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to develop strategies that enhance biodiversity conservation while promoting economic opportunities for local populations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing biodiversity conservation practices within the context of the program.
Design and implement criteria and indicators for assessing good practices in biodiversity conservation.
Collaborate with FONCODES and other stakeholders to integrate these practices into the program framework.
Develop training materials and conduct workshops for stakeholders on biodiversity conservation practices.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of conservation practices and their impact on local communities.
Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations for improving biodiversity conservation efforts.
Engage with local communities to gather insights and feedback on conservation practices.
Ensure compliance with national and international biodiversity conservation standards.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to stakeholders throughout the project duration.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in administration, finance, economics, engineering, or related fields.
Completed postgraduate studies or specialization in economics, administration, finance, or related areas.
At least ten (10) years of professional experience in the public and/or private sector.
A minimum of three (03) experiences in analyzing, designing, or implementing criteria and indicators for good practices in biodiversity conservation and/or sustainable use in the public and/or private sector.
At least two (02) experiences in designing, managing, or implementing green financial products and/or competitive funds, preferably in the agricultural and/or environmental sector.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as administration, finance, economics, or engineering. Additionally, advanced studies such as a master's degree or specialization in economics, administration, finance, or related fields are required to ensure a strong theoretical foundation for the role.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of ten (10) years in relevant professional roles. This experience should encompass work in both public and private sectors, with a focus on biodiversity conservation practices. Candidates should also have demonstrable experience in analyzing and implementing conservation strategies, as well as managing financial products related to environmental sustainability.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, given the location and target audience of the project. Knowledge of English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and access to global resources and literature on biodiversity conservation.
Additional Notes: The contract is an individual contractor agreement, specifically directed towards natural persons. The duration of the service is set for a period of four months.
