Job Overview:
The Education Project Manager position is crucial for the technical development, strategic direction, and quality assurance of NRC Sudan’s Education activities and programs in the Darfur region. This role involves mentoring relevant staff and developing their capacities. The Education Project Manager is expected to adhere to NRC’s standards, procedures, and guidelines for project governance. The position requires overall planning and coordination of all Education interventions, which may be executed directly within the Education Core Competency (CC) or integrated across other CCs in the North and West Area Offices. The role demands a proactive approach to ensure that all education projects are effectively managed and aligned with the needs of the community, particularly focusing on the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnee children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Project Manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including ensuring adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, procedures, and SOPs/guidelines. This includes line management of Education project staff in the Area Offices and providing technical oversight and shared operational management of program staff in sub-offices. The role also involves contributing to the development of Area and CC-specific strategies and initiating the development of Education projects and interventions. Specific responsibilities include ensuring the availability of up-to-date needs assessments to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and advocacy efforts, managing the Education projects across the Darfur Region, ensuring effective financial and logistical management, and representing NRC in relevant meetings and coordination fora.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of four years of experience in a development and/or humanitarian Education programming environment, including at least two years in a senior-level project management position. Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts is essential, along with documented results related to the position’s technical responsibilities. Knowledge in protection mainstreaming, community outreach/engagement, community capacity building, and community-development oriented programming is required. Candidates should demonstrate experience and understanding of Project Cycle Management and team leadership, as well as fluency in English, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a plus, along with solid computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant educational background, typically a degree in education, social sciences, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in education or humanitarian response may be advantageous, although specific educational requirements are not explicitly stated in the job description.
