Job Overview:
The position involves providing advisory services on an Integrated Point of Sale (POS) System specifically for the UN City in Copenhagen. The consultant will be expected to analyze the current POS systems in use, identify gaps, and recommend improvements or new systems that align with the operational needs of the UN City. The consultant will work closely with UNDP staff to ensure that the proposed solutions are feasible, cost-effective, and sustainable. This role requires a deep understanding of POS systems, their integration with existing technologies, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and present findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current Integrated Point of Sale (POS) systems in use at UN City Copenhagen.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in the existing systems.
  • Research and recommend new POS solutions that meet the operational needs of the UN City.
  • Collaborate with UNDP staff to gather requirements and understand the specific needs of different departments.
  • Prepare a detailed report outlining findings, recommendations, and a proposed implementation plan for the new POS system.
  • Present findings and recommendations to UNDP management and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support and advice during the implementation phase of the new POS system.
  • Ensure that all recommendations comply with UNDP policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in providing advisory services on Integrated Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
  • Experience working with international organizations or in a similar context is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred.

Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in advisory roles related to POS systems or similar technology solutions. Experience in the public sector or with international organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Danish or other UN languages is considered an asset.

The assignment period is from 1 March 2025 to 31 March 202
  • This is a short-term consultancy position, and the consultant is expected to work full-time during this period. The position is open to both national and international candidates. Compensation will be based on the consultant's experience and qualifications, in accordance with UNDP policies.
