The consultant will be responsible for ensuring effective communication and strategic updates to stakeholders regarding education and SDG 4 initiatives. This role requires delivering high-quality technical inputs for various program activities, including the development of key documents such as reports, concept notes, and meeting agendas. The consultant will also play a vital role in the finalization of the 2025 Arab SDG 4 Regional Progress Report, ensuring that it aligns with regional priorities and provides robust analysis. Additionally, the consultant will assist in strengthening the regional coordination mechanism, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring the technical quality of meetings and events.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will undertake a variety of tasks, including:
Ensuring effective communication and providing regular updates to key stakeholders on education and SDG 4 initiatives.
Delivering high-quality technical inputs for program activities, including reviewing and refining technical documents and reports for publication.
Leading the development of key documents such as concept notes, Terms of Reference (TORs), draft agendas, reports, activity briefs, meeting minutes, and speeches.
Supporting the development and finalization of the 2025 Arab SDG 4 Regional Progress Report, ensuring robust analysis and alignment with regional priorities.
Assisting in strengthening the regional coordination mechanism to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
Ensuring technical quality assurance of meetings and events, including content refinement and follow-up actions to enhance impact.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Education or Social Sciences (such as Political Sciences, Development Studies, Sociology, etc.). They should have a minimum of 7 years of professional experience relevant to international development, with a strong understanding of education challenges in the Arab States. Excellent business writing, report writing, and communication skills are essential. Professional proficiency in both English and Arabic is required, while knowledge of French is considered an asset. Additionally, familiarity with UNESCO and UN agencies in the Arab region, as well as directly relevant professional experience in the region, are desirable qualifications.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in Education or a related field such as Social Sciences. A PhD is considered an asset, indicating a higher level of expertise and research capability in the relevant areas of study.
Experience: The position requires at least 7 years of professional experience in fields related to international development, particularly in education. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of the challenges and issues facing education in the Arab States, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively.
Languages: Mandatory languages for this position include professional proficiency in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French is considered a valuable asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the region and with international partners.
