Job Overview:
The Information Systems Assistant will play a crucial role in providing technical support for hardware and software systems applications within the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team. This position involves installing application systems software and hardware, supporting senior staff in the development and maintenance of application software, and assisting in the preparation of technical documentation and training materials. The incumbent will also be responsible for software development matters, including ensuring data integrity and security, and conducting needs assessments for new systems. The role requires ongoing collaboration with users and developers to respond to their requirements and maintain various applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Systems Assistant will be responsible for a variety of duties including: providing basic technical support on relevant hardware and software systems applications; installing application systems software and hardware according to specifications; supporting senior staff in the creation and maintenance of application software within platforms such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Access; assisting in the preparation of technical and user documentation; producing training materials; providing support on software development matters; conducting needs assessments for new systems; performing ongoing reviews with users and developers; implementing and maintaining various applications; and performing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, a minimum of five years of experience in planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer information systems or a related area is required. This experience requirement is reduced to three years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Candidates should have experience in applications and systems delivery, as well as familiarity with iterative software development methodologies such as Agile. Experience with data modeling, data analytics, and reporting is also desirable, along with knowledge of business analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Candidates with a first-level university degree or higher will have a reduced experience requirement, indicating that higher education is valued and can substitute for some work experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field of computer information systems or a related area. However, candidates with a first-level university degree or higher can qualify with only three years of experience. Experience in applications and systems delivery is essential, along with familiarity with iterative software development methodologies such as Agile. Additional experience in data modeling, data analytics, and reporting is desirable, as well as experience with business analytics tools.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for both oral and written communication. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is considered desirable, which may enhance a candidate's profile but is not mandatory for this position.
