Job Overview:
The National Consultant – IT Expert position is designed for an individual contractor who will provide specialized IT expertise to support the procurement process within the UNDP office in Bangladesh. The consultant will be expected to deliver high-quality IT solutions and recommendations that align with the organization's goals and objectives. The assignment will span a total of 120 working days over a six-month period, from March 2025 to August 202
  • The consultant will work closely with UNDP staff and stakeholders to ensure that IT systems and processes are efficient, effective, and meet the needs of the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing requirements and technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant – IT Expert include but are not limited to:
  • Assessing the current IT infrastructure and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Developing and implementing IT strategies that align with UNDP's objectives.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to UNDP staff on IT-related issues.
  • Collaborating with other consultants and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of IT solutions.
  • Conducting training sessions for UNDP staff to enhance their IT skills and knowledge.
  • Preparing detailed reports and documentation on IT projects and initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP's IT policies and procedures.
  • Staying updated on the latest IT trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in IT consulting or a similar role, preferably within the UN or international organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, software development, and project management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A master's degree or relevant certifications in IT management or consulting would be an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT consulting or a similar field. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of procurement processes, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages would be considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time contract for a duration of six months, with a total of 120 working days. The consultant will be expected to work remotely or on-site as required by the project needs.
