Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will perform a variety of essential duties, including coordinating the implementation of the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for 2030 framework, providing technical support and policy advice to Member States, planning and organizing research and consultations, overseeing large-scale ESD events, managing the UNESCO Japan ESD Prize, developing knowledge products and guidelines related to ESD, leading the ESD for 2030 team, and exploring resource mobilization opportunities. The role also involves ensuring effective communication and collaboration among teams and stakeholders, monitoring progress, and providing support to Member States and development partners.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in education, science, or related social science fields. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in education systems analysis, development, or reforms is required, with at least 3 years of experience at the international level. Proven experience in fundraising and resource mobilization, as well as outreach and partnership building, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a good understanding of global trends in education for sustainable development and possess strong conceptual, analytical, and technical skills.
