Job Overview:
The position of Educational Expert on Project Based Education and Youth Engagement is designed for an individual contractor who will engage in project-based education initiatives aimed at enhancing youth engagement. The expert will be responsible for developing educational strategies and frameworks that promote active participation of youth in various projects. This role requires a deep understanding of project-based learning methodologies and the ability to implement these strategies effectively in diverse educational settings. The expert will work closely with local stakeholders and educational institutions to ensure that the projects align with the educational needs of the youth and the objectives of UNDP. The position is home-based with limited travel to participating countries, allowing for flexibility while still requiring some on-ground presence to facilitate engagement and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Educational Expert include but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing project-based educational frameworks that engage youth effectively.
  • Collaborating with local educational institutions and stakeholders to tailor educational strategies to the specific needs of the community.
  • Conducting workshops and training sessions for educators and youth leaders on project-based learning methodologies.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Preparing detailed reports on project outcomes and presenting findings to UNDP and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all educational materials and resources are culturally relevant and accessible to the target audience.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to project teams throughout the implementation phase.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in project-based education and youth engagement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of educational methodologies and best practices in youth engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for educational purposes.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field. Additional certifications in project management or youth engagement will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in educational program development, project management, or youth engagement initiatives. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Russian and English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the participating countries would be considered an advantage.

Additional Notes:
This is an individual contractor position with an estimated duration from March 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, requiring approximately 40 working days. The position is home-based, but limited travel to participating countries may be necessary.
