Job Overview: The position involves the provision of warehousing and equipment maintenance services, which are critical for ensuring that UNDP operations run smoothly and efficiently. Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the warehousing of equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions and inventory control.
Conduct regular inspections of stored equipment to assess their condition and identify maintenance needs.
Coordinate with relevant UNDP teams to facilitate the timely distribution of equipment and supplies.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, equipment conditions, and maintenance activities.
Prepare reports on warehousing and maintenance activities, highlighting any issues or recommendations for improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all warehousing and maintenance operations.
Provide training and support to staff on proper handling and maintenance of equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in warehousing and equipment maintenance services, preferably in a similar role within an international organization.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to warehousing and equipment maintenance.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in warehousing or equipment maintenance would be an advantage.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in warehousing and equipment maintenance services is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, as it is the official language of Guinea-Bissau. Proficiency in English or French would be considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is for 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and it is expected to be a full-time engagement. The contractor will be required to submit proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal, and any clarifications regarding the tender must be communicated through the portal's messaging functionality.
