Job Overview:
The Language Service Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Chief of the Languages Service by performing a wide range of office management and administrative support functions. This includes providing reference assistance, maintaining files, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer equipment and email services for the staff. The assistant will also be responsible for conducting research on official UN documents and assisting in the compilation of productivity statistics. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Language Service Assistant will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties including: performing office management and administrative support functions; providing reference assistance and basic computer technical support; conducting research on UN documents; organizing and maintaining electronic and hard copy files; purchasing and distributing reference materials; ensuring the provision of computer equipment and email services; assisting in data collection and analysis; preparing data presentations and reports; updating information materials; and covering for other staff as needed. The assistant will also be involved in the operation of job management systems and will assist in ensuring the smooth electronic transmission of documentation. Additional responsibilities may include troubleshooting computer issues and liaising with IT support as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
