Established in 1969, UNFPA operates in over 150 countries and has a mission to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health, promote gender equality, and empower women and girls. The organization focuses on three transformative results: ending preventable maternal deaths, ending unmet need for family planning, and ending gender-based violence and harmful practices. UNFPA is committed to addressing the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on women’s and girls’ access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, and aims to recover lost gains while realizing its goals.
Job Overview: The consultant will support the implementation and scale-up of the life-cycle digital platform, 'SoSafe,' which aims to provide equitable access to essential information and services for vulnerable groups in Thailand. The role involves collaborating with key ministries and stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to social issues such as homelessness and drug addiction. The consultant will facilitate consultative meetings, gather user insights, and work closely with the TraffyFondue development team to refine platform features. A critical aspect of the role includes resource mobilization to secure partnerships and funding for the platform's expansion into new provinces and demographic areas. The consultant's findings will guide the platform's evolution into a comprehensive life-cycle solution, aligning with UNFPA's transformative results and national priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Continued Platform Development and Implementation: Contribute strategic insights to integrate SoSafe with other platforms, collaborate with various stakeholders, and facilitate launch events and training workshops. Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation support focusing on gender-based violence and reproductive health needs.
Partnership and Resource Mobilization: Identify and engage potential partners for financial or in-kind contributions, securing commitments from new partners to support the platform's sustainability.
Analysis and Reporting: Produce comprehensive analytical reports after each implementation phase, integrating user feedback into the platform's development.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Lead meetings to gather input from stakeholders and communities, co-present final reports to key stakeholders, and lay groundwork for nationwide implementation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in business, economics, public finance, social sciences, demography, international development, or related fields. They should have at least five years of relevant experience in social, economic, or public policy research, and experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of innovative digital tools for social issues is advantageous. Experience with multilateral organizations and the UN system is preferred, as well as familiarity with UNFPA's life-cycle approach and mandate.

This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of social issues and the development of effective strategies for the SoSafe platform.

Candidates should have experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders and promoting or developing innovative digital tools to address social problems. Experience working with UNFPA and understanding its mandate is desirable, as is experience in enhancing the life-cycle approach.
Languages: Fluency in English and Thai is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in both languages is essential for effective communication with stakeholders and for the successful implementation of the SoSafe platform.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is set to run from March 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, for a total of 100 working days. The consultant is expected to deliver an outline work plan by March 31, 2025, a mid-term progress report by July 31, 2025, and a final report by December 15, 202
