Job Overview:
The Grants Manager will be integrated into the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team based in Bangui and will report directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director. This position involves close collaboration with program and support departments, as well as field teams. The Grants Manager is responsible for contributing to the strategic development of the mission, identifying funding opportunities in line with SI's national and global strategy, coordinating various departments during the drafting of project proposals, reports, and contract modification requests, and ensuring compliance with donor procedures. The role also includes proactive monitoring of contractual obligations from contract signing to closure and archiving, developing internal and external communication materials, and identifying relevant local partners. The Grants Manager will face challenges such as fundraising alongside the Country Director, enhancing external communication, and maintaining inter-departmental dialogue. Initial priorities include supporting project proposal development, consolidating project reports, and coordinating audits and spot checks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the mission.
  • Identify and monitor funding opportunities in accordance with SI's strategy.
  • Coordinate departments during project proposal writing and reporting.
  • Anticipate programmatic and contractual deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with donor procedures and enhance team capacity regarding accountability tools.
  • Proactively monitor contractual obligations from contract signing to closure.
  • Develop internal and external communication materials.
  • Identify relevant local partners and coordinate support functions for national partner NGOs.

  • Coordinate donor audit activities in collaboration with mission and headquarters departments.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in humanitarian project management, political science, international relations, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector: 0-2 years.
  • Experience in a similar position: 3-4 years.
  • Strong understanding of project cycle management.
  • Experience in writing reports/project proposals for various donors and managing projects funded by institutional donors.
  • Good knowledge of donor platforms, rules, and procedures.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a higher education degree in humanitarian project management, political science, international relations, or a related field.

Experience:
The position requires 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of project management and donor relations.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, and excellent command of English is also required.

  • The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, plus a monthly per diem of USD 73
  • SI covers housing and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. A break system is in place, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with additional rest days. Expatriates receive comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including vaccinations and malaria treatment.
