Job Overview:
The Research Associate position within the Office of the Chief Economist at the OECD is designed for a talented and motivated individual who will contribute to the Department's analysis and communications on strategic outputs. The role involves working closely with the Chief Economist and the Senior Economist, engaging with colleagues across the Economics Department and the broader OECD. The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting background economic and policy research, drafting reports, and assisting in the preparation of speeches and briefing materials. The position requires a proactive approach to enhance the Department's communication efforts and support coordination among different branches of the Economics Department. The Research Associate will also be involved in projects that align with the OECD's strategic objectives, thereby strengthening the organization's role in economic policy advice.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Research Associate include conducting background economic and policy research and analysis on macroeconomic and structural policy issues. This involves performing literature reviews, statistical and empirical analysis, and drafting fast-track research requests in collaboration with co-authors. The Research Associate will assist in preparing speeches, talking points, and briefing materials for the OECD Chief Economist and the Economic Counsellor. Additionally, the role includes reviewing and proofreading policy documents to ensure clarity and coherence. The Research Associate will contribute to the development of innovative data visualizations and presentations to enhance communication efforts and support the coordination of contributions from various branches of the Economics Department for key outputs. Liaising with other OECD directorates and external stakeholders to gather relevant information is also a critical aspect of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Research Associate position must possess an undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or a related discipline. Experience in an economic policy environment is considered an asset. A strong knowledge of macroeconomic policy issues is required, along with relevant coursework or experience in macroeconomics, international economics, microeconomics, public policy, statistics, quantitative analysis, and econometrics. The ability to draft high-quality speeches, summaries, and briefing materials, as well as distilling policy implications from research work, is essential. International experience in policy, research, and analytical activities through studies, internships, or professional activities would be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Research Associate position includes an undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or a related field. Candidates should have completed relevant coursework that provides a strong foundation in macroeconomic and structural policy issues, as well as quantitative analysis and econometrics.

Experience:
